Poppy Seed (Khus Khus)

Known by various names across different states of India, Khus Khus or Poppy seeds are a well-known ingredient that finds a place in numerous Indian cuisines. Poppy seed is an oilseed obtained from the poppy (Papaver rhoeas). The tiny kidney-shaped seeds have been harvested from dried seed pods by various civilizations for thousands of years.
